    19thC Victorian Hair Jewelry Mourning Locket Shadowbox Charm Brooch Wheat Abalone
    From an upstate, NY estate. Exquisite 19thC Victorian “memento mori” morning jewelry piece. Gold filled shadowbox brooch / charm vase with beveled glass windows on front and back. Beautiful gathered wheat hair design, with seed pearls and gold foil accents on the inside. Delicately laid on a colorful abalone backing. Gold-filled case. Unmarked.
    Measures approx 1 5/8” by 1.25”.
    Needs restoration. Seed pearls are loose and one of the delicate fold foil spring-like strips (gathering the wheat) has come loose, as well. Pin has broken off of the back (at hinge) and needs restored. Could also be made into a pendant.
