    Description

Beautiful hand painted antique French faience apothecary pharmacy druggist  jar with lid.
Produced by the Strasbourg-Haguenau company in Strasbourg in the 18th century by Joseph Hannong.
This gorgeous antique pharmacy jar was used for Unguentum Rosatum, or Rose Ointment which was made with Rose Oil which was an expensive ingredient, (I want to thank Albert for that info!).
Beautifully hand painted with a rose, blue bells and other flowers on the front.
There is a little bug on the side as you turn the jar and a tulip, a rose and other flowers on the back.
There are also flowers on the lid.
The bottom is marked "hannong strasbourg" under glaze.
It is in excellent condition for its great age.
I only see a glaze flake on the top rim on the white which makes it hard to see, view photo.
It measures around 6.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide.
Add this to your French faience or Apothecary Pharmacy Jar collection today or give as a fabulous antique gift.
