Up for Sale is a Rare Nutro Ginger Ale Checkerboard. Fabulous Promotional Advertising Piece that is still functional as a Game Board. Backside is quite legible and is the side with the least wear, fading and scuffs. Interesting Piece for the Soft Drink, Ginger Ale, Game Board or General Store Collector! Not much to be found in my research other than a Nutro Birch Beer Bottle Cap. I believe Nutro was short for the Nutrolactis Company which was a leading producer of Elixirs during the 1890-1910 period of Medical Quackery. Many companies (Coca-Cola being the most famous) transitioned from the Medicinal Elixirs to the New and Emerging Soft Drink Market. Many Companies were in this market and over time dozens went out of business. Nutrolactis was one of the companies that tried adapting but never made it.
22 3/4" x 22 3/4" and 3/16' thick. No major damage such as breaks or fold creases.
