Up for your consideration is this Trust Dee Dr. Bristol Bit. Size 145 or 5 3/4 inches.
A D- bit is the same as an Eggbutt only the bit rings has the shape of a ‘D’. The straight section of the bit ring ensures a ‘limitation’ and pressure distribution on the mouth and cheek of the horse. This makes the horse easier to turn and stops the bit from pulling through the mouth. This makes the D-snaffle bit useful for schooling young horses. This bit lies stable and calm in the mouth.
Features double jointed mouthpiece:
The double-jointed mouthpiece consists of three parts. The middle section of the mouthpiece is flat on the tongue and give more pressure on the tongue than a single broken mouthpiece. The thicker the middle the more pressure on the tongue.
Sweet iron:
Sweet iron develops through contact with (air) humidity surface rust that sweet tastes and stimulates the saliva production in a natural way. This will allow the horse to produce more foam which is good for a better acceptance of the bit. This rust process (oxidation) changes the blue color of the TRUST-bits in brownish grey color. During a temporary non-use of a sweet iron bit a orange brown rust layer sticks on the mouthpiece. This can be easily removed by the bit with a little bit of water. This bit retails for 9.
